Graduation from an approved Associate's degree program for Occupational Therapy Assistant; Cert. by Board of Reg. of the American Occup. Therapy Assoc. and CT Lic.; 1 or more years exp.; new grads considered; exp. in psychiatry setting strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge in basic anatomy, physiology, psychology, occupational therapy theory and modalities and treatment techniques; observation and communication (verbal and written) skills; ability to work with others in a synergistic manner are essential. Provides prescribed occupational therapy treatment under the supervision of a Occupational Therapist. Must have experience working with patients with serious psychiatric disorders associated with longstanding histories of substance abuse/dependence.
