Job Summary
The Nurse Leader provides leadership in the day-to-day operations of Home Support Services. Providing leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, this position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, teaching, facilitating, implementing and evaluating daily clinical activities, ensuring effective use of resources. Acts as the communication liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as other health care professionals and administrative personnel outside the service. Supervises staff, provides leadership and functions as a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of service goals. Contributes to the monitoring and development of the operating plan. Provides leadership within the service for quality and risk management activities.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus three (3) to five (5) years’ recent related experience, including one (1) year relevant clinical and two (2) years supervisory experience.
Masters degree in Nursing preferred.
Recognized post basic education related to gerontology, chronic care and care of the older adult; knowledge of and experience working with related legislation; OR an equivalent combination of education and training.
Current and active registration with College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC) and/or with College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of British Columbia (CRPNBC)
Valid BC Drivers licence.
Travel is a requirement of this position. Transportation arrangements must meet operational requirements.
