Job Description

The Charge Nurse coordinates nursing care for the patient including staff assignment, assisting physicians, making rounds on all patients in the unit, helping take off orders, communicating with ancillary departments and staff, and assisting staff support personnel. Also meets the same criteria for all registered nurses including coordinating patient care, participates in patient/family education and provides leadership by coordinating patient care and working collaboratively with ancillary staff and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.



Qualifications
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas is required
Current basic CPR certification is required
For positions requiring ACLS, EKG, TNCC, PALS/ENPC and/or CEN applicants without these requirements will be eligible for consideration with the understanding that they must complete these during the first available opportunity upon employment.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing is required
Prefer at least 6 months experience
Successfully completes general nursing and unit orientation
Effective communication skills; both orally and written
Computer skills needed
Ability to work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care
Strong problem solving skills
Good customer service skills
